ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 -- IND VS IRE

IRELAND 207 (47.5)       INDIA 210/5  (46)
PLAYER OF THE MATCH    YUVRAJ SINGH
Bowling first after winning the toss, Yuvraj Singh's all-round performance guided India to a five-wicket victory over Ireland in their World Cup Group B match in Bangalore on Sunday.Brilliant bowling performance by the Indian side to restrict Ireland to a decent total. It all went India's way right from the toss. They gave couple of early setbacks to the Irish side without too many runs on the board.
Chasing 208 for a win, the start for India was shaky as they lost Sehwag and Gambhir early but Tendulkar(38) and Kohli(34) steadied the ship with a 63-run partnership followed by a sensible stand of 67 runs between Yuvraj Singh and skipper MS Dhoni(34). Yusuf Pathan(30 off 24b) provided the late fireworks to entertain the crowd. The Irish bowled well and fielded even better and made the opposition sweat hard but to be honest the target was to small to defend. Yuvraj Singh was the star today for India, with a five-for and an unbeaten half-century.
