ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 -- SL VS ZIM

SRI LANKA  327/6  (50)  ZIMBABWE  188  (39)
PLAYER OF THE MATCH  TILLAKARATNE DILSHAN

Sri Lanka have gone through to quarterfinals by winning in this match.Asked to bat first after losing the toss, Dilshan and Tharanga became the first opening pair to complete centuries in World Cup history, but the right-hander missed out on equalling countryman Aravinda d'Silva's record for the highest individual score in a World Cup by one run.
Sri Lanka have won by 139 runs. Their batting was superb and they put up a big total on the board. While defending, their bowling went horribly wrong as Brendan Taylor who pun on 80 off just 72 balls, smashed the bowlers all around the park. He along with Regis Chakabva put up the highest opening partnership for Zimbabwe across all World Cups. Sri Lanka came back very well later on picking up quick wickets and once Taylor perished, the Zimbabwean batting collapsed against good bowling from Dilshan who picked up 4/4 in his 3 overs. Muralidaran too bowled well and claimed 3/34 in his 9 overs who is playing in front of his home crowd probably for the last time.
