Miranda Dickinson's Fairytale of New York shot into the Sunday Times best-sellers list in 2009 just weeks after it was released and to date it has sold more than 106,000 copies.

It was also selected for the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s romantic novel of the year award earlier this year - and now it has caught the eye of a top Hollywood  producer who has worked with 'Mr Blockbuster' Jerry Bruckheimer (producer of action flicks such as The Rock, Top Gun and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise).

Miranda, of Richardson Drive, Wollaston, said: "He contacted me via email and told me his wife loved the book and it's not even on general sale in America. I was  surprise."
The 37-year-old novelist said the movie big wig told her Hollywood is yearning for a new romantic comedy that could show as big at the box office as the likes of classic chick flicks Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail.
And it seems Miranda's Big Apple based tale, about English florist Rosie Duncan and her love issue with New York and its inhabitants, has all the right ingredients.
The LA based film guru even has actresses in mind for the role of Rosie, whose story unfolds over cups of coffee with her quirky set of American friends.
Miranda, however, has her own thoughts on who could play Rosie - and top of her list would be British actress Carey Mulligan (star of An Education).
in the meantime Miranda is toasting the success of her second book, Welcome To My World - about the life and loves of a desk-bound travel agent, which has also become a best-seller.


She is also busy penning her third offering It Started With a Kiss, which she believes will be her best yet.
Set in Birmingham and the Black Country, it centres on wedding band singer Romily Parkes and her quest to identify a mystery man whom she fleetingly falls for after he rushes to her aid when she falls in a busy shopping mall.
Miranda hopes the light-hearted read, which she is also penning the soundtrack to, will put the Midlands on the map and show book editors and film directors the area can rival world class locations such as London and New York when it comes to providing the perfect backdrop for a good, old-fashioned romance.

Another Night, Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp were shining on the Premiere  “The Tourist” Hollywood’s top stars hit the red carpet for “The Tourist” premiere on December 16 at the Palacio de Deportes in Madrid, Spain.

Angelina and her life partner Brad Pitt amaze the audience at the premiere night. Angelina Jolie amaze on the red carpet, in a Swarovski top with black pleated velvet skirt, and a matching shawl from Atelier Versace. She wore glitzy light jewelry and sported nude lips.

She had a press conference and told to journalists that she loves "Madrid and Barcelona mainly for art and great food." She further added: "There are amazing museums and collections of art here."

On the other hand, Brad Pitt stayed in black and showed off head-to-toe black look in front of cameras. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt struck a few stunning poses at the event and looked very nice together.

Angie’s co-star Johnny Depp also rocked the red carpet in a stylish black men suit and looked ideal as always. This famous star grabbed everyone’s attention. On screen couple, Angelina and Johnny are also nominated for 2011 Golden Globes Award which will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2010.

• Apply fresh aloe juice on the affected area with pimples. Fresh aloe juice can soften the skin and stop the pain and inflammation thus caused. In the severe cases of pimples, take aloe juice orally twice a day, 10ml. each time can help a lot on pimples. This home remedies for pimples has been applied and validated for millions of people.
  
  
•  Mung bean can clear heat and toxics, which is the main causes of pimples in some group of people. First put on some lotion, and then lay a piece of tissue with breathable holes on the face. After that, then smear with mung bean power. Remove it after leaving it for enough time.
  
  
• As we know that watermelon can remove oils and improve the condition of oily face. So watermelon peel mask can be one of very good home remedies for pimples. First remove the all those watermelon flesh, and then apply the watermelon peel on face. Wash the residue off after 5-10 minutes.

• As a home remedies for pimples, juice of pear and celery can be a very good secondary remedies for pimples. The solution includes 100g of celery, 1 tomato, 150g of pear and half a lemon. Put them all into blender and drink the juice, one time each day.

• Mask of mint mixed with egg white is also good option of home remedies for pimples. It can improve the oil secretion and increase skin elasticity. First mix 1 egg white, 1 teaspoon of mint and 1 tablespoon of skimmed milk powder well, and then apply them on face about 15 minutes. After that, wash them off with warm water.
  
  
• Loquat can clear heat and transform phlegm. So loquat leaves are very effective on treatment for pimples and rosacea. Take 1000g of fresh loquat (removing the hair) and 8000 milliliters of water, and then boil them for 3 hours. After that, remove the residue and condense into paste. Finally blend the paste with appropriate honey for storage. Drink 10 grams to 15 grams each time, twice a day.

Well! As we all know that NEW YEAR is just at the corner so I thought don't share some interesting fact regarding it with it firstly. Did you know that what 1111 means? Yes, It means 1st of January 2011 (i.e. 1-1-11) in short 1111. :)
Who says that once a time gone then it will never comes back. Now this time it does come back. Don't know what I am saying! Wait watch this interesting thing about 2011. In 2011, you can use the calender of even 2005! Interesting! See the calenders!

Cooking Corner

Well! I thought that why don't give you some recipes that you would like to make at home either alone or with with friends. These recipes will help you to make your day and then you enjoy to eat thing that made by your own self.
Today I am giving you two recipes along with their nutrition facts, so that it help you in maintaining your health.


 PATE :

Make: 500ml
Ingredients:
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
125 g butter
375 g chicken livers, trimmed  and cut in half
2 g pepper
30 ml sour cream

 Method:
Place onion,garlic and butter in a small casserole dish. Cook on High for 4 to 5 minutes.Add chicken livers pepper to mixture.Cover and cook on MEDIUM-HIGH for 6 to 7 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking.Place cooled mixture in a blender or food processor. Add sour cream and blend until smooth. Pour into a 500 ml mould and refrigerate until set. 







Tomato Soup :
Severs: 4-6

Ingredients:

30g butter

1 kg ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped

1 onion, sliced

1 carrot, sliced

625 ml chicken stock

5 g oregano

salt & pepper to taste

Method :
Place butter in a 4-litre casserole dish and heat on HIGH for 30-60 seconds. Add vegetables. Cook on HIGH for 8-10 minutes. Pour in stock and oregano. Cover and cook on HIGH for 15 minutes. Puree in a food processor or blender. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve in individual soup bowls.
